This is adult leggings and nightgown set is made of 60% bamboo and 40% cotton. Bamboo fabric breathes easier than cotton alone and is cooler in warm weather. It is also naturally antibacterial and can feel like a cross between cashmere and silk.
There's something about Norway that bring to mind thoughts of reassuringly natural and reliable materials. Therefore, it's no surprise that it was the birthplace of hypoallergenic baby and kids clothing label Lilleba.
Based in Stavanger and the brainchild of clothing designer Silje Sivertsen and graphic designer Nina Eikerol since their launch in 2006, their company philosophy is to work with materials that are kind to a baby's skin but also sustainable and so equally kind to the environment. The two main fabrics that they work with are soybean fabric and bamboo.
Soybean fabric is made from the soya plant which can grow in fallow soil without the use of pesticides and actually utilises the waste products created in making soy oil. As a fabric it has many of the same qualities present in wool whilst being as soft as cashmere. Soybean fabric is also PH-neutral, heat-regulating and has a natural 50 + UV protection.
The bamboo Lilleba use is grown without the use of pesticides or fertilizers, is the fastest growing plant in the world and can renew itself continuously from the same root.
Bamboo fabric absorbs moisture four times better than cotton helping to keep the skin of an active or warm child nice and dry and doesnt stick to the skin as it is ant-static. Furthermore, bamboo also kills bacteria, keeping clothes more hygienic and healthy as well as being PH-neutral and naturally anti-fungal.
By utilising these fabrics Lilleba is able to create clothes that are exceptionally kind to your child! It doesnt stop there though as with two established designers behind the label they also have a creative element to them that also makes them desirable to wear.
