Mouse pocket Dungarees in Baby alpaca wool

These have to be the cutest dungarees we have ever seen in the softest Baby Alpaca Wool from Bolivia.Mother of Pearl buttons.

Hand Wash but they are worth it.All Waddler clothes are made from 100% natural fibre and must be hand-washed only in warm water using a gentle detergent or shampoo. They should be laid flat and allowed to dry naturally. As well as not damaging the shape of the garments this will ensure their durability.

Alpaca wool is a pure natural fibre that comes from the Alpaca, an animal native to the Andes Mountains in South America where it has been used to knit and weave for thousands of years. At Waddler all our clothes are produced from Baby Alpaca* whose long fibres are softer than sheep’s wool and being hypoallergenic mean they are gentle on children’s delicate skin. To allow Alpacas to withstand the sub-zero temperatures and blazing sun of the high Andes, their wool has to be both super warm and breathable. Baby Alpaca has both of these qualities with the added benefit of being lightweight.

All of our Alpaca wool is sourced in Bolivia and Peru from small farmers. As well as providing an income for thousands of families, Alpacas are also an environmentally friendly animal. Unlike sheep and goats, they have soft toes that don’t damage delicate eco-systems and their grazing doesn’t cause soil erosion. We source our Alpaca fur from the high number of animals that die naturally in the foaling season. Alpacas are not farmed for their fur and Waddler does not support fur farming. *(Baby Alpaca refers to the fine grade of the wool rather than it coming from young Alpacas)

Our clothes are handmade in Bolivia by women using skills passed down over countless generations. For many families this work provides their only source of income. At Waddler we believe that work of quality deserves a good wage and decent working conditions. To guarantee this to our customers, Waddler clothes are produced to official Fair Trade standards. The knitters work in their own homes to their own hours allowing them to balance the demands of work and family. Though many of them do prefer to get together for a good gossip!
